How do I manage objectives?

What are objectives?

Objectives are strategic areas of interest or a particular goal you wish to achieve across your products.  Objectives are attached to a roadmap card, and exist both on the portfolio(business) level and the product level.

A card can have multiple objectives if needed.

You can choose how objectives are viewed (label only or name+label) under Saved Views

How do I manage my objectives?

Click on the roadmap card to prompt the slideout, then click on the objective field to see your objective list.

To add a new objective, click on Create new objective.

Name your objective and select the label color.

If your objective applies to all products, leave the "All products" toggle on. If it applies only to the product you are looking at, you can make it product-specific. (Does not apply to Starter accounts.)

If you need to edit objectives at any time, simply hover over the objective and click on the available Edit option.

How do I archive objectives?

Hover over the objective and click on edit. At the top of the menu, you will find an ellipsis(...) at the top right. Click on it, and select Archive to archive the objective.

The objective shows an archived icon if linked to a card.

To see a list of all archived objectives, click on “Show archived objectives.” You can attribute an archived objective to a card at any time, and restore it if needed.

If you wish to permanently remove the objective, click Delete.

How do I filter my roadmap based on objectives?

Once your legend has been set, you can then use the filters to filter down on colors/objectives of interest.

Why only 9 objectives? Seems very constraining! May be a road-block from adopting ProdPad.

    Hey Marc,
Got back to you via email earlier - but our goal is to help keep you focused on your objectives. Remember you can always pair up objectives with tags if you're looking to focus on a specific module or area of your product, and there are no limits for tags at all.

It would be cool for my relationship with the Design department of the company if we could customise the colors ;-)

I can't seem to change relabel (e.g. change colours) on the objectives I can only change the title. Is there a way to do this?

@Carrie, only objective names can be changed, not colors.

How do I order my Objectives? In the dropdown they seem to be listed in order of being added. Ideally I'd like to be able order A-Z with the option of making some Sticky
