Setting Up a Microsoft Teams Integration (Zapier)

Sending ideas or feedback to ProdPad from Ms Teams is easy with a Zapier integration!

You will need:

  • A paid MSTeams account
  • A Zapier account
  • A ProdPad account

Step 1: Select your Trigger

To get this going, we will select the trigger from MS Teams as New message Posted to Channel.

You will then be prompted to select your team and channel. If you wish to set this up for multiple channels, you will need to create a new zap per channel.

To ensure you have the right data, run a quick sample check. Be sure to update a request prior to running this check.

Step 2: Filtering

To make sure not all new messages are sent over, create a filter so only specific items are passed on to ProdPad. If we choose to create a Zap to send over feedback, we would make sure that only text that contains the content #feedback triggers the zap. Likewise, if you were sending ideas, you might choose to use #newidea.<br>

*MS Teams does not pass through the user's email. In order to avoid duplicates, please select the user name as the identifier.
